The kids entering the workforce today could be called the Cloud Generation or the Open Source Generation. Nearly every aspect of corporate, government and educational enterprise software designed today either uses open source or evolved from open source coding and is designed to run in a cloud or hybrid cloud environment. Isaac Newton in 1675 once said, “If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of Giants.” Open Source and Open Culture of today embody that statement. One company in particular that has embraced open source and bringing open source products to the market is RedHat. In 1995 RedHat released its 1st commercially available version of Linux and they have been synonymous with Linux and Open Source ever since.
Today’s episode of InsideAnalysis Radio, Eric Kavanagh discusses Open Source and Open Culture with RedHat’s Daniel Reik, and Karena Angell. Daniel is a Sr. Director with more than 20 years of experience in the Open Source business and Karena is RedHat’s current Marketing Manager.
