In this Research Program, Athena Solutions and The Bloor Group will examine the expanding Data Catalog market. Our primary goal is to provide valuable insights about how to gauge your unique business needs in the context of a fast-evolving discipline.

Research Program Components

In the spirit of The Bloor Group’s long-held commitment to transparency, much of this research will be accessible to the business community which can actively participate in numerous ways:
Radio Shows — We will conduct several live radio broadcasts in which experts will discuss key components, use cases, best practices, and potential pitfalls in choosing and deploying data catalogs. These will be one-hour sessions, recorded via Zoom, open to audience participation.
User Survey — We will publish a survey of ~10 questions to ascertain where market awareness is with respect to data catalog technologies and methodologies. This survey will help us drive conversations on the radio shows, and also get a finger on the pulse of this space.
Vendor Briefings — We will conduct a series of 1-hr briefings with any vendor who offers data catalog technology. Vendors will provide a 20-min overview of their technology, then answer questions of our consultants and analysts. There is no fee to participate in these briefings.
Findings Report — Once we have completed all briefings and radio shows, our authors will craft a final report that will outline the current state of this market, and offer specific insights for how companies should approach the purchase, implementation and use of data catalogs.
Findings Webinar — To culminate the program, we will host a detailed, 90-min findings webinar in which we share key insights derived, and provide a framework for businesses to use when exploring data catalogs. We will also feature demos and deep dives of promising technologies.
