When Hasso Plattner threw down the gauntlet more than a decade ago, many of the industry’s other titans merely shrugged. An entire platform built on in-memory technology? Pshaw! Some of the major players eventually embraced the in-memory concept, but only in bits and pieces. The boldness of Plattner’s vision, however, required a wholesale embrace of this technology as the foundation for tomorrow’s business.
